Unemployment in the Czech Republic in May 2018 fell to 3% from April's 3.2%. This was reported on Friday by the Czech Labor Exchange. In May last year, 4.1% of the population remained unemployed in the Czech Republic.

At the moment 229,632 people are registered at the Labor Exchange. This is the lowest number of unemployed since 1997. Over the past year, almost 79 thousand people have found work. Over the past month, 13,000 people in the Czech Republic have also withdrawn from unemployment records.

"In a number of Czech regions, the number of unemployed people is at a historical minimum: first of all, in the areas of industrial zones," said the head of the Czech Labor Exchange, Katerzhina Sadilkova.

The Czech economy continues to grow. The labor market is influenced by seasonal work, which is now in full swing. First of all, employees are needed in the spheres of construction, gastronomy, tourism, agriculture, gardening, forestry, resorts and in the mining industry.

Salaries seasonal workers in 2018 offer a record high.
